Fave Spot in DC: Patty Boom Boom

February 12, 2011

Wagwan, D.C. dancehall heads? Watchu know about Patty Boom Boom?

D.C. just got a little more amazing with its new addition of Patty Boom Boom: a reggae nightclub/Jamaican carryout restaurant. It’s def. my new fave spot. The second you walk into this place, you can’t help but bob your head & get a great big smile on your face (esp. when you walk in to the sounds of Gregory Isaac’s “night nurse”). Was itching to get on the dance floor before I got into the door (had some reggae gold playing in my car on the way there) and stayed on the dance floor the entire night. The music is on point.  They def. held it down playing some big tunes such as, Buju Banton’s “Boom Bye Bye” or Red Rat’s “Tight Up Skirt”. Lot of love in the room, as well. Everyone has a red stripe in their hands just wine’n to the music. This is a place you want to go to with people who are really into reggae/dancehall or people who are open-minded about music.
